Ben's Notes

Before we settled on the version of this strip that you see above, we went through a number of possibilities based on plant-themed puns. It turns out Lewis hates puns, but I figure you should see them anyway.

Rejected replies for Sid:

  • If I told you, I'd have to "leave."
  • The knowledge is well "rooted."
  • I don't want you having any "dirt" on me.
  • You could say I'm a late "bloomer."
  • There's nothing secret about it, it's just a "garden"-variety trick.
  • I've "branched" out since then.
  • Your "bark" is worse than your bite.
  • To the victor goes the "soil."
  • The bigger they are, the harder they "fall."
  • It isn't easy being "green."
  • I'm just "skeletoning" around.

Lewis's Notes

I wouldn't say I hate puns. I'd say I am judicious in their application.

In other news, Ben and I are going to go to San Diego for Comic-Con this week, which is exciting because I think I went to one in Chicago when I was eleven, but that's all I remember. I know it was a comic convention, I don't really know which one.

Also, I added a few comics to the list of comics Ben and I like. The list is still vastly incomplete, because he and I like a lot of comics, but it has a couple more items on it now.
