There are actually a couple side bits in this strip that have some importance for future plot, but since Lewis wrote pretty much the entire thing (based on my suggestion of "What if the Green Grocer goes and talks to Ned or something?"), I'm going to let him be the one to explain it.

Here's my review of Spider-Man 3: It was an OK movie, but needed more Venom. They could have cut out the entire Sandman part and most of the Harry plotline, and just added way more scenes with Eddie Brock and the symbiote.

Also, they should have kept the origin story from the comics, and had Spider-Man get the symbiote from an alien costume vending machine.
